Meet the Team

agape 2010 - Satomi SATOMI
It was only two years ago when I felt called to go to Japan with the second Agape team from Peninsula Free Methodist Church. Little did I know that my life would be changed and blessed immeasurably by the experience. I am so thankful that God has given me this opportunity to go to back to Japan as a co-leader of the Agape team once again!

Hi! My name is Joanne, and I’m very excited to help lead the Agape team this summer. I am currently in my third year of teaching second grade in San Jose, and I love being involved with the youth and leading worship at Peninsula. I have never been on a mission trip or to Japan, so I’m a little nervous! I would appreciate your prayer and encouragement as I prepare for a totally new spiritual experience; I hope that this summer I can grow even closer to God while building relationships with brothers and sisters in Japan.

My name is Shun Okai and I am in my sophomore year. I feel really fortunate to be able to join the mission team and go to Japan in order to serve God and others in Japan. I look forward to the great experience that I will be able to go through while on the trip. I hope that the mission will prompt me to step out of my comfort zone and to grow more as a Christian.

agape 2010 - JenJEN
Hello, my name is Jen! I'm 18 and currently a senior at Mission San Jose High School. I'm very excited to be on this mission trip. As a member of the 2008 team, I'm ready to return to Japan and see the changes since we've last gone, as well as meet new people and bring others to Christ. Going again will only deepen my relationship with God, and I can't wait to start working for Him overseas. Thank you for all your support!

agape 2010 - EmiEMI
Hi, my name is Emi, and I am currently attending to Foothill College majoring in Veterinary Technology. This is my first mission I'm going to and I'm very excited to be part of this year's Japan Mission team. I'm hoping to make new friends and build new relationship with brothers and sisters who believe in Christ. I am hoping to gain more confidence in meeting new people and talking about how God has been working in my life. I am also hoping that my experience will help someone who is having a hard time. Thank you very much for you support and prayers.

agape 2010 - JennyJENNY
Hello! I'm Jenny and I like to sing, play guitar, and hang out with my friends. I am currently in 9th grade at San Mateo High School. I'm really looking forward to making some new friends. I grew up in Peninsula, and everyone there is like family to me. This is my very first mission trip! My expectations are that I will be able to be a helpful addition to the team and get a taste of what mission life is like. I hope to move out of my comfort zone and just disregard whatever my needs are, and simply serve God.

agape 2010 - RichieRICHIE
HI! my name is Richie, this is my 2nd time going to the Japan mission trip. This year I am hoping to be able to reach out to those in Japan who don't go to church at all and at the same time helping the kids/youth at Koganei and Sakuragaoka. From the last time I went, I felt as if God had called me there for a little bit of introduction, telling me that it won't be my last time. This time I feel as if God is calling me to be a leader to the kids and a role model to the youth and encourage them to continue to pursue their walk with the Lord.

agape 2010 - MiyouMIYOU
Hi. My name is Miyou Kanda and I really enjoy the beach, music, art, and cooking. I've basically been a part of PFMC since I have been able to talk. I'm currently working and hoping to go back to school soon. I have always wanted to go to a mission trip but was unable to until this year so I really don’t know what God has in store for me. I hope that through this I can better understand the Japanese culture and be able to create a new relationship with the kids, youth, adults, and the staff of the churches in Japan! I hope that I am able to use my passion for Christ to reach out to others.
