2010 AGAPE Japan Mission Team

This will be the third Agape team to Japan from Peninsula and the growing relationships between Peninsula and Koganei Free Methodist Church in Tokyo have been a huge blessing to both churches. Not only have we sent teams to their church, we have received two teams from Japan as well. Even though we live on opposite sides of the earth, we are connected and encouraged through Jesus Christ, worshipping the same God!
Our purpose as a team is to be an encouragement to the people in Japan and serve with them to share Christ's love to their communities. Christians in Japan are a small minority, and throughout the two weeks, we have the opportunity to work alongside church members to reach out to non-Christians of all ages.
This year, the team will participate in a VBS camp for upper elementary school kids and a youth camp, as well as two worship services at Koganei and Sakuragaoka Churches. We will be leading worship songs, skits, games, and crafts. Pastor Nobu will be speaking at the camps and church services, and several members will be giving their testimonies throughout the trip.
We are excited to be able to share the experience with everyone and ask for your support and prayers for this mission trip.

今年もミッションチームを日本へ派遣できることを嬉しく思います。
毎年交互にミッションチームを送り、送られしているわけですが、その交流は今年で5年になります。私たちの教会は日系教会ですので、日本宣教に重荷を感じてこのように活動が続けられていることは、私たちの教会、そして年会にとっても素晴らしいことであると思いますし、重要でもあると私は考えています。
今回は、山中湖で小学生キャンプ、伊豆大島で中高生キャンプが開催され、そこにおいてチームは奉仕します。また日曜は、小金井教会だけでなく、桜ヶ丘教会でも礼拝奉仕をします。今までのチームよりも、さらに広い範囲において活動が展開されますので、新しいチャレンジであることを覚えてお祈りくだされば幸いです。
このミッション活動を通して、日本の救いのために少しでも役立つことが出来るようにと願っています。そしてそればかりでなく、これを通してミッションチームに参加する一人一人が成長出来るようにとも願っています。暑い日本の夏ですから、体も心も守られますよう、お祈りをお願いいたします。
